In April of 2010, Apple changed the face of technology with their release of the iPAD. Since this time, thousands of apps have been released to serve a multitude of functions. Additionally, other tablets utilizing touch technology have been introduced into the market. One immediately realized application of touch tablets has been their utilization with children with special needs. Not only have they become an amazing communication tool for many of these children, they have also become a learning tool. Today, there are apps for communication, speech, language, motor skills, social skills, academic skills, behavioral skills, and more, with new apps being added daily.
